This is just not a postal code but a way of life. A way of life which has existed since the time of the Moguls. The moguls created Shahjahanabad, which is more or less what is now called old Delhi or the Walled city.
I was born here & was always fascinated by the fact that people always looked at me differently when they came to know where I resided. Poeple have always asked me about Old Delhi, fascinated, as if I lived in a distant planets. The queries have mostly been about the great non veg shops & places to shop. Why are people so fascinated by this place? This question confronted me a lot many times but now after spending 6 years as a journalist & travelling all over the country I think I know the answer.
Old Delhi is a world within itself. A world which is like no other place in the world. A place which cannot be replicated, which even when hurtling towards modernity has managed to ground itself in tradition.
Well, I think that's enough for today. I've started this blog as a one stop query post for Old Delhi. You can ask me anything you want to know about the walled city... anything you wish to. You can ask your questions in comments, it could be about the places to eat, shop or any adress you want to confirm. I'll try to answer as soon as possible. Also, I'll try to make this blog intresting, hopefully as intresting as the place I live in.
